The Year 11 challenge
GCSE Biology asks students to connect a wide specification, interpret practical methods and data, and write with the precise language a question requires. A student can understand the science and still lose reachable marks through an incomplete explanation or a missed command word.
A connected Autumn Term
Short tutor presentations explain the topic before students apply it.
Questions follow the relevant specification and assessment conventions.
Homework patterns and misconceptions shape what the tutor revisits next.
Marking and concise feedback turn each week's work into the next priority.
How lessons work
The tutor adapts explanations and selected questions to the group, while every week keeps a clear connection between the previous homework, the new topic and the next practice task.
Address homework questions and common misconceptions.
Explain the week's Biology topic with a short presentation.
Work through selected exam questions together.
Complete tutor-selected homework through the T4T Platform.
Receive marking and feedback that informs the next lesson.
Fixed weekly sequence
Every group follows the same module order. Tutors adjust the emphasis and questions for the students in that group.
Cell structure, scale, mitosis, differentiation, diffusion, osmosis and active transport.
Digestion, circulation, gas exchange, plant transport and non-communicable disease.
Pathogens, body defences, vaccination, resistance and treatment evidence.
Photosynthesis, respiration, limiting factors, exercise and metabolism.
Reflexes, synapses, reaction time, temperature control, the brain and eye.
Blood glucose, reproduction, kidneys, water balance and plant hormones.
Interdependence, fieldwork, biodiversity, material cycles, decomposition and biotechnology.
DNA, inheritance, genetic crosses, selection and genetic technology.
An original AQA, Pearson Edexcel or OCR Gateway mini-paper with a board-structured mark scheme.
Tutor-selected gap closure, mixed retrieval and a clear next revision cycle.
Why small groups help
Students can hear another approach, explain their reasoning and practise with peers, while the tutor still checks each student's written work and sees where their reasoning breaks down.

Questions from parents
GCSE Biology Grade Booster is designed for Year 11 students who want a clearer weekly revision routine, focused Biology teaching, guided exam-question practice and individual feedback within a small group.
Practice is adapted for AQA GCSE Biology 8461, Pearson Edexcel GCSE Biology 1BI0 and OCR Gateway Biology A J247. If you are not sure which board your child follows, choose Not sure on the form and we can help confirm it.
Groups contain 2-8 students. We match groups as closely as possible by exam board, tier and learning need, subject to suitable availability.
Lessons are taught by medical-student tutors. Final tutor assignment and verified status are confirmed before enrolment.
The tutor chooses suitable numbered questions after each lesson. Students submit their answers through the T4T Platform, the tutor marks them between lessons, and the next lesson begins by addressing questions or common misconceptions.
No. The course guide and pre-course mini-module are free. We will email to arrange a short suitability call, but requesting the resources does not commit you to the £200 Autumn Term programme.
Understand the programme, try the pre-course work and then decide whether a suitability call would be useful.
